Why can’t revenue be recorded if the cash has been received and it is non-refundable? Revenue recognition continues to be a focus in the financial community, particularly the tech sector. Penalties for not properly recognizing revenue include loss of management credibility, impact to a company’s valuation, and potential investor issues. The goal of this course is to focus on the key revenue recognition principles that can be used by emerging technology companies to guide them in this ever-changing and complex area.

December 4: Successful Negotiation #2: The Difficult Negotiation
This session helps participants learn how to employ advanced techniques used by professional negotiators. The workshop will share effective, professional tactics for dealing with real-life difficult negotiation situations, such as “uphill” negotiation where one party has substantially more negotiating power, management of difficult or angry negotiating partners, and the communication of bad news and surprises. Structural techniques for successfully dealing with uncertainty in negotiations also will be discussed. The three hour workshop includes interactive team and individual exercises that help to consolidate new negotiation skills.
